Catramide is the 7th queen of the Bagratid kingdom of Armenia, under whose patronage a number of churches, as well as the main cathedral were built in the city of Ani. Catramide was known as a builder queen.

Process of making art
The art of jewelry making dates back thousands of years, to a time when ancient civilizations crafted jewelry for personal adornment. Created to display gemstones, express faith, and signify social status, artisans made jewelry that ranged from shells on hemp strings to tiaras and crowns worn by royalty.
THE FOUNDER
Catramidé was founded in 2020 by Margarita Kocharyan.
From its very inception, one of the brand’s core missions has been to celebrate Armenian culture, elevate its presence on the international stage, and preserve its centuries-old heritage by passing it on from generation to generation.
Inspired by Armenian symbols, historical memory, and spiritual values, Catramidé creates jewelry that bridges past and present through refined, contemporary design. Each creation embodies identity, meaning, and the idea of continuity beyond time.
