Queen Anahit

Anahit is one of the most famous goddesses of ancient Armenian beliefs, who played an important role in the religious life of the Armenians before Christianity. She was associated with love, fertility, feminine power, and wisdom, as well as linked to the sources of water and protection.

Anahit embodied feminine fertility, particularly related to the preservation of love and relationships.

She protected the prosperity of the land and people by ensuring a rich harvest and the continuity of generations.

Anahit's worship had great significance in the religious life of the Armenians. Within her worship, there were various rituals and sanctuaries. One of the main sanctuaries was located in Artashat, where her main temple was situated.
